More About Emily Fisher

I completed my Master’s of Physiotherapy at McMaster University. Although originally from Ontario, I am excited to return to the Island after completing my BSc in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria in 2016.

As a multi-sport athlete, I understand the demands of various sports, including field hockey, mountain biking, alpine skiing, whitewater paddling, rock climbing, and soccer. I have competed as a member of the Canadian National Cycling Team, represented Ontario in field hockey, mountain biking, and alpine skiing, and competed as a member of the University of Victoria Women’s Field Hockey Team. As a previous elite athlete, I have a strong understanding of the demands of sport and how to tailor rehabilitation to the goals of the individual.

As a coach and previous outdoor educator, I have a passion for education that enables me to help individuals understand their body and meet their unique needs. I have a particular interest in working with athletes, individuals who are experiencing chronic pain, older adults, individuals with complex medical histories, and any individual who is ready to take an active approach to rehab.

I have a keen interest in injury prevention, and I look forward to helping reduce your risk of future injury. I believe education and exercise are the foundations of rehabilitation, and I use this to tailor treatment plans to meet your unique needs.

I look forward to exploring these with you and empowering you to return to the activities you love.
