More About Kalpana Ravala

I graduated with Bachelor of science degree from NTR univeristy of Health sciences, India. I also possess a Master of science degree in Medical Rehabilitation from univeristy of Manitoba,Canada. Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, I worked as graduate Research student treating patients with stroke, head injuries and vestibular disorders using interactive videogames as a therapy tool. Besides private practice, I work as Homecare physiotherapist, where I Implement a home-based muscle strengthening and balance retraining which decreases the rate and risk of falls in seniors living in the community.This provides me an oppurtunity not only to improve physical and social function of seniors but most importantly their quliaty of life. I do possess Acute care experience, working with team of health professionals in home care and acute care has provideme a strong foundation in treating my pateints with a multidisciplinary approach to improve their health. I am currently pursuing Kineta Core, Functional Dry Needling course with the goal of releasing or inactivating trigger points to relieve pain and improve range of motion. My intrest in doing this is to help speed up my patient's return to active rehabilitation. My current treatment approach incorporates Education, Exercise therapy techniques, Manual therapy and patient education along with a personal approach. Keeping client centred care in mind; I work with my patients in setting up clinical goals, assess and reassess patients during treatment on the way to restoration of function, activity and treatment goals achievementLanguage spoken: English, Telugu.
